Music and talk: Lamin

Join us as we host Lamin, a compelling musical entity born from the dynamic collaboration of two distinct Vancouver-based artists: Amin Ya (@aminya74) and LE3SA (@le3sa_music).

Together, they forge an electrifying sound rooted in modern rock and blues, venturing into progressive explorations and the raw energy of desert rock. This is uniquely interwoven with captivating Persian-inspired melodies, often introduced by Amin Ya. The result is an improvisational and ever-evolving musical dialogue that highlights Amin Ya's expansive musicianship and LE3SA's versatile, genre-aware approach, creating a sound rich in tradition and forward-thinking.

Amin Ya is a multi-instrumentalist composer and singer, with 15 years of mastery of his primary instrument, the electric guitar, drawing from a deep well of jazz, fusion, rock, metal, and orchestral influences to shape his intricate compositions and soaring improvisations. His extensive proficiency spans nylon/acoustic guitar, bass, keyboard, and the Persian Setar contributing to his progressive sound.

LE3SA, a singer and music producer, brings her unique sonic perspective, honed by combining multiple live and electronic instruments to create sounds that are both innovative and familiar, often bending genre lines. In this duo, LE3SA lays down the crucial rhythmic and foundational architecture on drums and bass, infusing the band’s organic rock sound with a fresh, modern sensibility and potentially unique textural elements drawn from her producer’s toolkit.

This hour-long performance is brought to you by the Iranian Music Society and is made possible thanks to funding by the Government of Canada's New Horizons Grant for Seniors program. There will be some time for questions and interactions at the end.

لمین Lamin یک نهاد موسیقایی نوین است از همکاری پویا دو هنرمند متمایز ساکن ونکوور: امین یا (@aminya74) و لیسا (@le3sa_music).

آن‌ها با همدیگر،  صدایی هیجان‌انگیز را بر پایه راک مدرن و بلوز بنا می‌کنند و به کاوش‌های پراگرسیو و انرژی خام دزرت راک می‌پردازند. این امر به طور منحصربه‌فردی با ملودی‌های گیرا با الهام از موسیقی ایرانی، که اغلب توسط امین یا معرفی می‌شود، در هم تنیده شده است. نتیجه یک گفتگوی موسیقایی بداهه و همواره در حال تکامل است که موسیقی‌دانی گسترده امین یا و رویکرد چندوجهی و آگاه به ژانر لیسا را برجسته می‌کند و صدایی غنی از سنت و آینده‌نگر را خلق می‌کند.

امین یا (Amin Ya) آهنگساز، خواننده و نوازنده چندین ساز است که با ۱۵ سال تسلط بر ساز اصلی خود، گیتار الکتریک، از چشمه‌ای عمیق از تأثیرات جاز، فیوژن، راک، متال و ارکسترال برای شکل دادن به ساخته‌های پیچیده و بداهه‌نوازی‌های اوج‌گیرنده خود بهره می‌برد. مهارت گسترده او شامل گیتار نایلون/آکوستیک، بیس، کیبورد و سه‌تار ایرانی است که صدای پراگرسیو و نوین او را شکل می دهد.

لیسا (LE3SA)، خواننده و تهیه‌کننده موسیقی، دیدگاه صوتی منحصربه‌فرد خود را به ارمغان می‌آورد که با ترکیب چندین ساز زنده و الکترونیک برای خلق صداهایی نوآورانه و در عین حال آشنا، و اغلب با عبور از مرزهای ژانر، تقویت شده است. در این دوئت، لیسا معماری ریتمیک و بنیادی حیاتی را با درامز و بیس بنا می‌نهد و حساسیت مدرن و تازه‌ای را به صدای راک ارگانیک گروه تزریق می‌کند و به‌طور بالقوه عناصر بافتی منحصربه‌فردی را از جعبه‌ابزار تهیه‌کنندگی خود به آن اضافه می‌کند.
