Collaboratory desktop computers offer free and premium software for use during open computing times and classes, including:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Fusion 360 CAD software
  • Microsoft Office
  • Minecraft (for use at designated times only)
  • Krita (digital illustration)
  • Inkscape (vector graphics)

Classes and workshops feature a variety of equipment, including:

  • Digital and children’s microscopes
  • Kano computer coding kits
  • Arduino programming kits
  • Apex GoPro cameras
  • Video cameras
  • Wacom drawing tablets

Create & play @ the Collaboratory temporarily suspended

Create & play will be temporarily suspended as we work to accommodate more study spaces due to building upgrades at City Library. We hope to reopen this space soon. Thanks for your patience!

Get your hands on new technology and devices during create and play time at the Collaboratory. Build a Lego robot, develop your coding skills or take your art to the next level with digital illustration software and tablets. Create and Play is open during specific times. Drop in or book the space to use. Orientations with TechConnect staff are required to use the Cricut, LEGO Robotics and Arduino kits.

Build a robot

Make a robot with our Lego robotics pieces, or build and code your first Arduino project.

Program & code

Develop your coding skills with block coding devices like a Dash Robot or Kano Coding kits.

Craft & create

Make cards or scrapbook pages with the Cricut cutter or work on your artistic masterpiece with a Wacom tablet.

Edit photos & videos

Fine tune your photography with access to the full Adobe Creative Suite, make a stop motion film with a Hue Animation kit or borrow a video camera to capture home movies.

Play & learn

Help little ones develop their STEAM literacy skills with screen-free coding toys and devices.
