Music and Talk: Howraam Tanbour Ensemble

The Hawraam Tanbour Ensemble presents a program introducing the Tanbour, an ancient long-necked lute rooted in the Kurdish regions of western Iran, particularly the province of Kermanshah.

Tanbour music is deeply connected to the spiritual heritage of the people of this region. It carries echoes of epic narratives, ancient mythology, and tales of love and mysticism passed down through generations.

This performance will be presented in three sections:

Part I:

An introduction to Tanbour music, including an overview of how the maqams are structured, categorized, and interpreted.

Part II:

A duet for Tanbour and percussion, shaped by improvisation within the framework of traditional Tanbour maqams.

Part III:

An ensemble performance featuring a selection of Tanbour maqams and composed pieces from the instrument’s repertoire.

The event will conclude with a brief Q&A session.

This hour-long concert is organized by the Iranian Music Association of BC and made possible through funding from the Government of Canada's New Horizons Grant for Seniors.

Registration is required. Please arrive on time. Due to the popularity of the program, your spot will be held for 5 minutes only and will then be released to someone from the waitlist.

گروه تنبور نوازان هورام

گروه تنبورنوازان هورام در این اجرا به معرفی ساز  تنبور که خواستگاه آن  نواحی کردنشین غرب ایران، به‌ویژه استان کرمانشاه است  می‌پردازد.

موسیقی تنبور پیوندی عمیق با باورهای آیینی مردمان این منطقه دارد و همچنین  روایت‌کنندهٔ داستان‌های حماسی، اسطوره‌های کهن و حکایت‌های عاشقانه و عرفانی مردمان این خطه میباشد .

این اجرا در سه بخش ارائه خواهد شد :

در بخش نخست: توضیحاتی پیرامون موسیقی تنبور  و چگونگی دسته بندی مقام ها و  محتوای آنها خواهد داده شد‌.

 بخش دوم:  دونوازی تنبور و سازهای کوبه‌ای خواهد بود که بر پایهٔ بداهه‌پردازی در مقام‌های تنبور شکل می‌گیرد.

بخش سوم  : گروه نوازی چندی از قطعات و مقام‌های تنبور  خواهد بود .

و درپایان زمانی به پرسش و پاسخ اختصاص داده خواهد شد .
