Event overview

June 5, 2025

6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Learn how to bead your very own pin with Squamish Ocean Canoe Family member Lena-may. In this workshop you will not only learn how to bead but also the importance of symbols such as an orange shirt, red dress and the medicine wheel.

All supplies needed to complete the project will be provided.

Bio: My name is Lena-may my ancestral name is Tsaxaxult. I have one daughter, Tesaxlewet Mabel Leona Alana. We come from the Squamish Nation and are both part of the Squamish Ocean Canoe family. I taught myself how to bead roughly 16 years ago and have made earrings and necklaces for my daughter. I enjoy working on earrings and necklaces in the style I learned on my own, what some people call Lazy stitch or flat stitch. I can't wait to meet new people and to teach what I love.

This event is intended for adults and will require registration.
