Technology coaching

one on one Technology Coaching

To participate in today's information world, everyone needs to have some basics in technology. Our TechConnect program provides free coaching to support digital literacy in our community.

What kinds of coaching can I receive?

We provide coaching on basic technology use, including devices and software. Examples of what we help people with include how to:

  • Getting started with your computer, e-reader or tablet
  • Creating and using an email account
  • Using the Internet
  • Using Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Downloading library eBooks and eAudiobooks
  • Using social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube
  • Communicating using video conferencing software like Zoom and Skype
  • Managing digital photos

We are not able to help with advanced technology topics that exceed our knowledge base (in other words, we have to feel capable of helping you effectively), nor are we able to help with topics like setting up a dating profile, income tax submission, personal banking, or completing a resume for you. If we do not feel we can accommodate your request, we will try to refer you to other resources that might assist you.

How many sessions can I have?

There is no limit to the total number of coaching sessions a person can have, as long as it does not prevent others from taking advantage of the service. However, to ensure that appointment times are available to everyone, we have a limit of one upcoming booked appointment at a time. This means that when your current appointment is over, you will be able to book another session.

I have other questions!

Should you have any further questions about this program, please don't hesitate to let us know by emailing us at techconnect@cnv.org or calling us at 604-998-3471.
