Join Koala Kode for an introduction to coding for kids! This workshop takes place over four Thursdays, October 2, 9, 16 and 23, for children in grades 3 – 5.

Step into the world of robots—virtually! Using VEX VR, students will explore the basics of coding while controlling a virtual robot in fun, interactive challenges. With block coding, they’ll learn how to give precise instructions to their robot while discovering core programming concepts like conditionals and loops. From moving and turning to solving mazes, each activity feels like a game, encouraging creativity and problem-solving while building real coding skills. This is the perfect way for young learners to explore robotics in a fun and engaging environment. No prior experience needed!

City Library is partnering with Koala Koders to offer this program. Koala Koders was founded in 2022 and continues to be a youth-led organization providing free coding, 3D design, and robotics programs across North Shore libraries. Our goal is to make STEM education fun, hands-on, and accessible to all youth, no matter their background or experience. Through interactive programs held in libraries across the North Shore, we aim to inspire the next generation of creators and problem-solvers—one idea at a time.

Please only register once for this program:

  • You will automatically be registered for all four sessions.
  • Caregivers of children younger than 10 must remain in the library during the program.
  • Please submit one registration per participant.
