In celebration of Black History Month, Valerie Jerome will be at City Library to discuss her new memoir Races: The Trials & Triumphs of Canada's Fastest Family

Jerome grew up in North Vancouver. In the book, she sets the record straight on the Jerome family’s heroic history, and on the racism they fought from their community, the press, their country, and even from inside their family home.

Valerie Jerome is a Vancouver-based activist, speaker, teacher, politician and athlete. A former track and field star, she competed for Canada at the Rome Olympics, as well as at the Commonwealth and Pan American Games. Races is her first book.

Registration is required, but dropping in may be possible, space permitting.
