9:20 am to 10:20 am
Join us for an author talk with Tasha Spillett, focused on her acclaimed graphic novel series, Surviving the City. We will explore themes of identity, belonging, resilience, and Indigenous storytelling. Students will learn about Tasha’s writing journey, the inspiration behind the series, and how stories can challenge stereotypes and spark important conversations about justice and representation. We encourage students to ask questions and connect literature to real-world experiences. This event is intended for grades 7 – 12 but is open to everyone.
