Event overview

April 27, 2024

2:00 pm to 3:30 pm

In this interactive, all-ages storytelling session, Kung Jaadee, NVCL's Indigenous Storyteller in Residence, and Ingrid Broussillon invite you to listen to their stories, then retell them yourselves.

We'll begin with the story game: when we first tell the story, it will be at normal speed, and with each retelling, it’ll be a bit faster. There will be a bit of movement as well. Come and play with us, while we retell a couple of stories together!

Ingrid Broussillon, from Guadeloupe, has had a passion for storytelling and theatre ever since she was a child! What she loves most of all is interacting with her audience while taking them into her world, with French or Kréyol, songs and public appeals where nature is endowed with speech and the impossible becomes possible for the moment of a tale. In 2017 Ingrid created her company Griottes Polyglottes initially to tell interactive stories and help children stimulate their creativity and improve their French. Today, her world is also open to adults for storytelling sessions, to practise public speaking and self-confidence, to combat language insecurity, but also for improvised theatre workshops against racism and to promote cultural inclusion.

Registration for the program is not required, but it helps us anticipate attendance. If you register you will also receive an email reminder the day before the event, as well as any updates about this program.
