Library card
All library materials may be borrowed with a library card, except reference materials and home services audiobooks. Registration for a library card is free for City of North Vancouver, BC OneCard users and InterLink communities. Get a library card.
Borrow
Loan periods are 4 weeks for most materials, and 2 weeks for high-demand items such as DVDs and video games. Read about borrowing limits.
Return and renew
Return materials through the automated book drop. Renew materials by logging into our catalogue using your library code and PIN (last 4 digits of your phone number).
Loan periods and holds
NVCL does not charge fines on overdue materials. However, please note that we charge the replacement cost for lost items and long-overdue (6 weeks) items assumed to be lost.
There is no fee to place holds on titles in our catalogue. There is a $1 fee for holds that are not picked up and checked out.
Legal advocates from North Shore Community Resources will provide an overview of the major federal and provincial income assistance programs that are available to BC residents.
They will explain the kinds of benefits and resources that are available, who is eligible for the various programs, and what obligations people have if they are approved. They’ll also cover common problems that can arise either at the application stage or after one has already been approved, and how to appeal these decisions.
