October 27-31 is Media Literacy Week, and we will be collaborating with Media Smarts - Canada's centre for digital and media literacy - to help learn about the importance of media literacy and fact-checking!
In the age of mass information, information overload, viral fake news and newly proliferating Artificial Intelligence, how can you know what you are looking at is real, true and accurate? Join this class where we will evaluate a series of online content from articles to images and videos, and see if you can spot what is real vs. fake. Along the way, we'll learn some tips and tricks for how to better identify whether what we see online is real.
Registration is required for virtual participation; the Zoom link will be sent to the email used to register. Registration is recommended for in-person attendance. Limited space for in person attendance. Dropping in will be permitted if space allows.
