Volunteer Opportunities for Teens

Registration for Fall 2019 teen volunteer opportunities will open on Monday August 19 at 3 p.m.

Fall 2019 Volunteer Opportunities:

These opportunities are for teens in grades 8 to 12. Volunteering opportunities can fill up quickly. These opportunities are first-come, first-served. We will do our best to accommodate your requests! Please note, all library volunteers who work with the public will undergo a mandatory criminal background check.

Library Events

Want to help with a variety of Library events? Volunteer to help with Library events, like our Kilby Memorial Teen Art Contest, Movie Nights in the Plaza, teen room parties and more. You get to choose which events to sign up for. Events schedule TBA.

Homework Help

Love learning new things and teaching others? Be a tutor for pre-teens and teens. Volunteer Mondays 3:30 - 5 p.m. and some flexible hours TBA.

Teen Advisory Council (TAC)

Want to develop your leadership skills while having fun helping to plan and promote Library programs and events for teens? You will get a chance to provide input on teen services and materials at the Library. Attend meetings twice monthly on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month.

Teen Art and Promotion Group (TAP)

Do you love art and/or graphic design? Join the Library's Teen Art and Promotion Group to put your creative skills to work. You will get to create artwork and promote Library programs. You may also get involved with curating teen artwork in the Library. Attend meetings on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month.

Read Along

Become a buddy to students in grades 2-5, and work with them weekly to improve their reading skills! This program requires a seasonal commitment – you must be available for the entire duration of the program to volunteer.

Lego Robotics (Program now full for Fall 2019)

Lego Robotics: Want to be a mentor to pre-teens learning about Lego Robotics in the library? No prior experience with LEGO or robotics is needed.
