Borrow and Renew

To order books from the library, please use our new City Library Takeout service.

We have extended our loan period to six weeks for most library materials. The due date for all physical materials is now June 30, 2020 or later.

NVCL is no longer charging fines on overdue materials. Existing late fines will be waived.  Fees for holds items that are not picked up have been suspended.

All library materials may be borrowed with a library card, except reference materials and home services audiobooks. Registration for a library card is free. If you give us your email address you will receive renewal and overdue reminders.

When you wish to return library materials, you may do so through the automated exterior book drop, which is open 24/7 on the east side of the library building.

Renewal via our online catalogue

Go to our Library Catalogue, and log in using your library barcode and PIN (last 4 digits of your phone number), then select the "My Account" menu link.
