NVCL Book Club

Welcome to the NVCL book club! Our next meeting is Wednesday, Jan 8, 2020.

We'll be discussing When Life Gives You Lululemons, by Lauren Weisberger.

How It Works

  • No registration or membership is required.
  • We meet every six weeks, from September to June.
  • Meetings take place from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in the third floor program room.
  • Participants will be asked to form small groups, with one volunteer facilitator. Discussion questions will be provided.
  • Books are distributed at the end of each meeting for the following month (based on supply).
  • Those who do not get a copy at the initial distribution can contact Sarah Tarcea to be put on the hold list.
  • Please be mindful of the amount of time you have a library copy, as there are likely others waiting for it.
  • Library staff can also assist in finding additional copies at other libraries.

Dates and Books for 2019/2020

Discussion Ground Rules

  1. Have a “kitchen table” conversation, i.e., everyone participates; no one dominates.
  2. There are no right answers. Draw on your own experiences, views and beliefs – you do not need to be an expert.
  3. Keep an open mind. Listen carefully and try hard to understand the views of those who disagree with you.
  4. Help keep the discussion on track. Stick to the topic at hand; try not to ramble.
  5. It is okay to disagree, but don’t be disagreeable. Respond to others as you would like to be responded to.
  6. Have fun!
