Kanopy is introducing a ticketing system for all plays beginning Nov. 1.
North Vancouver City Library users will be allotted 15 tickets per month. This is a change from the “five plays per month” system. Just as with the credit system, tickets will not roll over month-to-month. Access to Kanopy Kids will continue to have unlimited plays.
Each title will have variable ticket costs and loan lengths. Users will be able to see ticket costs and loan lengths before pressing play on a title.
This new system is being rolled out to more accurately reflect the cost to play for libraries and to create a more flexible system that enables users fair access to the various movies, documentaries and TV series’ found on Kanopy.
Kanopy is an online streaming service featuring movies, documentaries and TV series. Accessing Kanopy is free for City Library cardholders.
