The results are in for the 2026 Teen Writing Contest, presented jointly by the North Vancouver City and North Vancouver District libraries!
We received over 40 impressive submissions from North Shore teens, all in response to the theme “Metamorphosis”.
Entries were read by a panel of local authors, teens on the organizing committee, and librarians. Submissions were judged on the following elements: incorporation of the theme, development of plot and characters, structure, creativity, and the authors' explanation of their writing process.
The winners were announced at the teen writing contest party held at City Hall on Saturday, 24, 2026. The first-place winners will have their stories made into books and added to each library collection in North Vancouver.
