All library materials may be borrowed with a library card, except reference materials and home services audiobooks. Registration for a library card is free for City of North Vancouver, BC OneCard users and InterLink communities. Get a library card.
Loan periods are 4 weeks for most regular materials, and 2 weeks for high-demand items such as DVDs and video games. Read about borrowing limits.
Return materials through the automated book drop. Renew materials by logging into our catalogue using your library code and PIN (last 4 digits of your phone number).
NVCL does not charge fines on overdue materials. However, please note that we charge the replacement cost for lost items and long-overdue (6 weeks) items assumed to be lost.
There is no fee to place holds on titles in our catalogue. There is a $1 fee for holds that are not picked up and checked out.

We value freedom of thought and diversity of ideas. This form is for customers who wish us to reconsider a certain item in our collection. When we receive your submission, a review committee will be struck immediately and a thorough investigation will take place. The Chief Librarian will send you a response to your request for reconsideration within four weeks of receipt.
