Event overview

June 8, 2024

2:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Thinking about a family outdoor adventure this summer? Whether a day hike, a multi-day camping excursion, or anything in-between, join outdoor educator Brent Hillier to learn how to plan an adventure that’s fun, safe, and memorable.

Topics include:

  • How to involve children in outdoor activities;
  • How to be safe outdoors;
  • Essential items, and how to use them (we’ll pitch a tent!);
  • Ideas for local all-ages family adventures.

Presenter bio: Brent Hillier has worked in the outdoor industry since 2008. During the summer he can be found across the North Shore and Sea-to-Sky region teaching survival and navigation courses, guiding mountain biking and backpacking trips, and building and maintaining trails. In the winter, he teaches avalanche skills training for Canada West Mountain School.

The event is for all ages.

Registration is not required, but it helps us anticipate attendance. If you register you will also receive an email reminder the day before the event, as well as any updates about this program.
