 Friends of the Library

Friends of the Library can be seen throughout the year hosting periodic 'Book 'n Bake' sales, with proceeds directed to the Library and library-related activities.

Who We Are

Friends of the Library is a private, nonprofit organization established in 2006 to support the Library. Its purpose is to increase the use of the library through public awareness and cultural programming, to advocate for strong public funding of the Library, and to provide private funding to enhance Library services.

The Friends of the Library are happy to announce that there are no more membership fees! We are working in partnership with NVCL staff and board to explore a variety of ways that the Friends of the Library can contribute to building a sense of community and connection at NVCL. We hope that we will be able to build a network of Friends who bring a diversity of skills, resources, energy and enthusiasm to support a vibrant library community. Stay tuned; more information is to come about new opportunities.

The primary fundraising goal of the Friends is the annual North Shore Writers Festival. It is an exciting and popular community event, and we always welcome donations to support this and other fundraising initiatives. Please feel free to leave a donation at the front desk, or use the PayPal button below. Any contribution is much appreciated. Charitable tax receipts are issued for identified gifts totaling $20.00 or more.
