Writing support with Capilano University

Have an essay you need some feedback on? Looking for assistance with drafting your résumé and cover letter? Confounded by a grammar problem?

Visit the Collaboratory on Monday evenings to get help from a CapU Writing Centre peer tutor. These tutors are university students with strong writing and communication skills trained by CapU English instructors. They can:

• Help you brainstorm, outline and plan your writing;
• Give you feedback on résumés, cover letters, school assignments (any level) and creative writing;
• Help you understand errors your instructors have flagged;
• Help you understand academic integrity and avoid plagiarism.

This is a drop-in program and is open to all ages. If the session is busy, your session may be limited to 15 – 20 minutes.

Please note

• Peer tutors cannot proofread your entire document, nor write your document for you.
• Peer tutors will offer instructional editing to empower you to successfully write or edit your own work.
